Cindy on Powerful Learning:

What’s one strategy teachers can use to incorporate Powerful Learning?

“Create learning opportunities that are student inquiry based. Using student inquiry in the classroom can create a culture of self-learning. Student inquiry helps students by giving them the drive and confidence to find their own success.”

What’s one student project that demonstrates powerful learning?

“My students created a traditional Tlingit village in Minecraft Education Edition. We had to do a lot of research and a lot of planning. They built three clan houses in the game and then they exported their models and 3D printed their design.”

How can teachers be agents of change in their classrooms and communities?

When we promote social change–not only in our schools but also in our local and national communities–we move beyond teacher leadership and we become agents of change. We become the architects of the future, preparing students for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
