MY World 360° invites emerging creators worldwide to create 360° media to share their perspectives and advance positive action toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs, also known as the Global Goals, are a universal call to action to tackle the world’s most urgent and important challenges by the year 2030. Through MY World 360° we want to share the stories of the people behind and at the front of the SDGs, including those whose lives are most affected and those who are taking action to make their success a reality.
Ready to become a MY World 360° creator? See the FAQs below for a brief overview of the program. Check out the complete MY World 360° Program Guide for in-depth guidance on participating.
Who can participate?
MY World 360° invites ALL emerging creators (no age restrictions) everywhere to use Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), 360° and other emerging forms of interactive storytelling and design to show the multi-dimensionality of their local communities and creative visions for a better world. Youth and first time creators are strongly encouraged to apply!
What will I need to participate?
The world of immersive storytelling and design is wide open for experimentation and innovation. Submissions might include (but are not limited to):
- 360º video that immerses viewers in a new experience, point of view, or place.
- Augmented Reality (AR) that shows impacts of a certain phenomenon on the built or natural world.
- Virtual Reality (VR) experiences that allows people to interact with animated surroundings.
- Mixed media projects that combine 360º photos, audio, and text annotation.
- Volumetric VR using real people and places.
- Photogrammetry and 3D modeling that shares natural or cultural artifacts.
- Three-dimensional video games and simulations.
- And more!
Check out the Appendix in the 360º Production Guide for ideas about tools and resources you might use.
How do I get started?
Start by exploring the Sustainable Development Goals and how they are relevant to you and your community. Have conversations with people in your community to discover what issues are important to them. The MY World survey can be used as a tool to start the conversation and ask yourself and the people around you what stories need to be told.
You’ll also want to learn a bit about the three dimensional possibilities of immersive storytelling and design. Don’t be afraid to experiment and bring your creative ideas and point of view into the process. Check out these examples for ideas and inspiration.
What story should I tell?
Your story should relate to the SDGs and the ideas discussed with your community. If you need inspiration to get started, you can practice with our quick-start photography guides.
Once you have an idea of the issue you want to work on, it’s time to represent it using 360° media. Check out this 360° Production Guide for in-depth guidance.
If submitting 360° video, how long should it be?
We encourage creators to submit videos that are under 5 minutes.

How do I share my work?
Share your immersive stories and designs on social media using the hashtags #MYWorld360 and #Act4SDGs. Digital Promise Global and the SDG Action Campaign will be curating a MY World 360° playlist featuring media from across the globe. In addition, submit media here for consideration for special showcase events. The next submission deadlines will be February 25, 2020. Note that an adult must submit media on behalf of participants under 18 years of age.
